Bumboats: Distinctly Singapore
One of the best ways to appreciate Singapore’s modern cityscape is with a bumboat ride. For more than a century, bumboats have been a mainstay on the Singapore River. With a rounded hull and nearly flat bottomed design, the boats were formerly used for transporting heavy cargo in the relatively shallow river waters.
These days they are primarily used as tourist boats, shuttling visitors from quay to quay.
